This policy explains what data is processed when you use the Prayz app (“Prayz” or “the app”), available on the web (prayz.net), the App Store (iOS), and Google Play (Android), and how that data is protected.

Deleting your account and your data. You may request the complete deletion of your account and all of your data at any time. Email kennyahmad@gmail.com with the subject line “Delete my Prayz account.” We will permanently delete your data (identifier, notification token, prayer journal, prayer requests, email address, group memberships) within 30 days and confirm it by email. You can also erase your journal by uninstalling the app.

2. Data We Process

Prayz is designed to collect as little data as possible. We process:

An anonymous technical identifier generated by the app to recognize your device and send you your reminders. It does not contain your name or your address.
Your prayer requests and notes (“prayer journal”): these are stored locally on your device. If you turn on reminders for your personal prayer requests (Premium plan), the content needed to send the notification may pass through our notification service in order to be sent back to you.
Notification-related data: a notification token, as well as technical information sent by your device (model, operating system, language, time zone, approximate country inferred from your connection).
Email address: only if you activate the Premium plan on the web (Stripe payment), so that we can locate your subscription.
Prayer community: if you join a group and post a prayer request there, the text of that request (and the first name you provide, unless you choose “anonymous”) is shared with the group’s members so they can pray for you. We also keep group memberships and any reports/blocks for moderation purposes.

Prayz does not collect your precise location, your contacts, or your banking details.

3. Purposes and Legal Bases

Sending your prayer reminders — legal basis: your consent (notification permission), which you may withdraw at any time.
Providing and managing the Premium plan — legal basis: performance of the contract when you subscribe.
Ensuring the proper operation and security of the app — legal basis: our legitimate interest.

4. Notifications

Notifications are managed through OneSignal, our notification delivery provider. OneSignal processes the technical data needed to deliver messages on our behalf. You can turn off notifications at any time in your device settings.

5. Payments

Premium subscriptions are processed by secure payment providers depending on the platform: Apple (in-app purchases on iOS), Google Play (on Android), and Stripe (on the web). Prayz never has access to your credit card numbers, which are processed directly by these providers.

6. Storage on Your Device

Prayz uses your browser’s or device’s local storage to keep your preferences and your prayer journal. These are not advertising cookies: no data is used for tracking or advertising purposes.

7. Recipients and Processors

Your data may be processed by the following providers, solely to operate Prayz: OneSignal (notifications), Apple, Google, and Stripe (payments), Netlify (website hosting), and Cloudflare (reminder delivery infrastructure). We do not sell or rent your data to third parties.

8. Transfers Outside the European Union

Some providers (notably OneSignal and Stripe) are located in the United States. These transfers are subject to appropriate safeguards (the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses).

9. Data Retention

Your data is kept for as long as you use the app. Your prayer journal stays on your device and is deleted if you clear the app’s data or uninstall it. Notification data is deleted when you unsubscribe from reminders or after an extended period of inactivity.

Prayer requests posted in a group can be withdrawn at any time. When you leave a group, delete your request, or after moderation, the request is no longer shared with members.

10. Your Rights

Under the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), you have the right to access, rectify, erase, object to, restrict, and port your data. To exercise these rights, email us at kennyahmad@gmail.com.

You can turn off notifications at any time (device settings) and erase your journal by uninstalling the app. You also have the right to file a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority (www.cnil.fr).

11. Security

Communications between the app and our services are encrypted (HTTPS). We implement reasonable measures to protect your data against unauthorized access.

12. Children

Prayz is not intended for children under 15. We do not knowingly collect data from children under that age.

13. Changes

This policy may be updated. If we make a significant change, we will update the “last updated” date at the top of this page.
