The salvation prayer 🙏🏽
The salvation prayer is your very first step toward God: the moment you open your heart to him, admit that you need him, and receive Jesus as your Savior. It's not the exact words that matter, but a sincere heart. You can pray it in your own words, or use this one:
Lord Jesus, forgive my sins, forgive the state of my heart.
You are the one who said: “Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest.”
Lord, I admit that I am weary and heavily burdened, and my heart needs your rest.
Come into my life and change my story.
From this day on, I declare and acknowledge you as my Savior and my Lord.
I have prayed with a sincere heart, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Why pray?

1. Thank you. Thank God for this day, for life, and for his blessings.
2. The cross. Thank him for the sacrifice of Jesus and for the blood he shed for you.
3. The Holy Spirit. Invite him, praise him, and let him lead you.
4. Forgiveness. Ask forgiveness for your sins, and forgive those who have hurt you.
5. Help. Bring your needs to God, and the needs of the people you love.
6. Spiritual warfare. Pray against the attacks of the enemy in Jesus' name.
7. Listen. Stay quiet for a few moments and let God speak to you.
Types of prayer
Praise. Tell him who he is, and thank him for his love.
Thanksgiving. Thank him for what he is doing in your life.
Confession. Admit your wrongs and receive his forgiveness.
Petition. Bring him your needs with confidence.
Intercession. Pray for others: the people you love, the world.
Your first prayer
You can simply start with these words:
“Lord, I don't really know how to pray yet, but I'm coming to you. Thank you for this day. Forgive me. Help me and guide me. I want to get to know you. Amen.”
